I have a longstanding relationship with documentary and creative non-fiction work. It goes back to my teen days in Atlanta, when I used to roam the city on foot with a plastic point-and-shoot. Many overnights were spent in the darkroom; many sunrises were seen through sleep-couched eyes and with arms fuming of fixer. In 2007, I bought my first video camera, a consumer Panasonic DV camcorder on Van Ness Ave. in San Francisco.
Below are examples of editing, editorial, producing and camerawork I've done for brand clients, public media, production companies and film directors.
Working with Tomorrow Pictures, I produced a multi-screen video installation and social media video for the Drop to Zero campaign, a global effort to eradicate polio. Working with our Creative Director, I came up with onscreen text, advised on graphics, refined the script and created the edit decision list for b-roll footage. Clients: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Rotary International

In the summer of 2010, I worked with film director Billy Woodberry to research and edit a film on Bay Area underground poet Bob Kaufman. Bob was an improvisational, oral poet with a mythic career. At the height of his popularity, he took a ten year Buddhist vow of silence... or so people believe. It was a pleasure working with Billy to bring Bob's legacy to life.
"And When I Die, I Won't Stay Dead" premiered at the 2015 Viennale and screened at REDCAT in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, January 11, 2016.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) hired me to produce and edit a branded video, promoting their professional development program for LAUSD teachers. This video highlights both their creative process as well as the exhibition that served as inspiration: Haunted Screens: German Expressionist Cinema of the 1920s.
